Today I am going to introduce you to this amazing product which only very few of you might have heard about. Blessed are those who do not have unwanted body hair, or who have very small unnoticeable hair growth on unwanted areas. For the rest of us, here comes a dream product from Vedic Line.

I was browsing through Urbantouch.com in March this year, when I just happened to come across this cream. A hair retarder? Really? Is there actually a product like this? Does it work? Must be all chemicals?.... my head swarmed with questions and I googled immediately for more information on this cream. I found just one review on this product and it was positive.

I just put my faith into it and ordered. I am not in favour of depilatory creams for removing unwanted hair since they make the skin dark and are very harsh on the skin. I never knew that a product like this one existed and used to only dream and wish about such a product. This cream definitely lives up to its claim and is like a God sent.

When I received this, I used it only for three days. I started on the day I had got my arms waxed. I used it at the back of my palms and fingers. I usually get my hair regrowth from the third day onwards after waxing. Hair regrew on the arms, but the area where I had applied this cream was still clean even after 2 weeks. (Update as on Aug 21, 2012) --> I am now using this once daily on my forehead and face (started after threading) and on arms and legs (started after waxing). The results are quite satisfying, but you need to be regular to see long term results.

THE PLUSES:
  1. The biggest plus is that this cream definitely works. It does slow down the growth of unwanted hair anywhere on your body. I love the fact that the company has not made any exaggerated claims. They have set the right expectations: “This is not a magic wand: effects are clear but gradual.” The results are slow but sure.
  2. Safe to be used on the face and anywhere on the body with no side effects, no itching or rashes.
  3. Men usually have harder hair. This is equally effective for both men and women.
  4. No matter whether you have waxed, threaded, shaved, have used a hair remover/depilatory cream, or have gotten electrolysis done to remove unwanted hair. You can follow that up with this cream to get positive permanent results.
  5. The hair that grow later are definitely softer and thinner than normal threaded or shaved regrown hair.
  6. Spreads easily on the skin and absorbs quickly.
  7. Though this feels a little oily in summers and I sweat a lot on my forehead when I have this cream on, it has not given me any pimples touchwood.
  8. Only a small quantity covers a large area of skin. Complete value for money.
  9. Made from natural plant derivatives, therefore 100% natural and no harmful chemicals.
  10. 100% vegetarian and not tested on animals. The package has “100% DERIVED FROM THE VEGETABLE HERBAL KINGDOM” written in extremely small letters.
  11. The package is attractive and handy. Can be easily carried while traveling. Please protect from heat and direct sunlight as it comes in a transparent plastic packing.
THE MINUSES
  1. Just one, and that too not even noticeable. At times, the actual smell (a little unpleasant) of the ingredients subdues the sweet smell, and you can smell some strange scent in between sweet notes, if you have applied this on your face.
  2. Takes more time to soften and retard shaved hair which has turned hard due to shaving.

    1. @Indianmakeupways: You should definitely see the results within a few applications after hair removal. The hair regrowth slows down a lotttt so you can have a good number of extra days before your next hair removal. Though this is making me sweat in the present heat. Would love to know if you get the same positive results :) Good luck and thanks for stopping by!

    3. I would appreciate if people actually read the review and comments before posting such questions. The cream works on waxed hair. Would you do waxing on your baby's forehead? So the answer is NO. Anyways, all babies have long hair on forehead, which automatically shed off when they grow up. So stop worrying so much and concentrate on the baby.

    1. Dear Geethu, this product mainly targets 'regrowth' meaning once the hair re-grow after removal. Say if you have never waxed your arms and you apply this cream, it will not reduce the length of already grown hair, nor will it remove hair from your arms. It will simply slow down the hair from further growing long. Similarly, If someone wants to apply on upper lip without threading, they won't be able to see results. Further hair growth will slow down but existing hair will remain. Naturally, each hair has a life of abt 3 yrs before falling off. So works best after hair removal.

Hope this helps. Feel free to write if you have any further questions :-)

  3. so the place where we cant wax or do anything we cant apply simply..? waxing is not possible in the whole body so what can i do? is it safe 2 apply in face ? how we can apply into face

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Yes Geethu, it is absolutely safe to apply on the face, it doesn't burn, it doesn't leave any marks. You can apply anywhere on the body... new hair growth will slow down, but can you wait for 2-3 years for existing hair growth to shed off naturally? Like I mentioned, this cream targets hair re-growth after hair removal.

If you have any specific questions, pls leave your email ID in the comments. I will not publish it and will reply on email :)

  5. Dear Soniya, that's a very important question a lot of ppl may be dying to know about. So, thanks for asking. Yes, you can safely apply to pubic area after shaving/ waxing/ trimming/ hair removal with depilatory cream, but use only on the area visible outside. It is not a good idea to use this or any other cream on the inner walls though, as that may disturb the natural pH of the genital area and may cause irritation/ infection, even though this is a very mild cream. Hope this answers :) Let me know if you have any further ques on this.

  6. how long does it take before one can see results?

    ReplyDelete

    1. You need to use it regularly for long term results. Otherwise, even if you apply it for just two days and then discontinue, you will see significantly slow hair growth over the next month. Regrown hair are sparse and thinner.

    1. I am as much a user as any and just know this works without putting hair follicle at risk. This makes regrown hair thinner and soft. No side effects reported yet. The brand's research and development team would be equipped with the scientific details you require. Pls contact them at the email/phone given above.

    1. Recommended usage is twice a day as mentioned in the table above. Practically, applying at night suits most as it gives it a lot of time to work and doesn't sweat too.

  9. Hi,

I see your first post is dated June'12 and it is august now. How long have you been using it and do you have any new observations worth sharing?

And a question form my side, do you feel that we are looking at a prospect of having completely smooth and hairless skin by regular application of this product?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Dear Shraboni, I had used it for a few months before writing this review. Some friends tried this after reading this post and did notice results (on arms, legs, chin) within a week, when applied right after waxing/hair removal. So far, I have been using it on targeted problem areas (one being hair growth on toes). The growth is reduced considerably even though I have not been very regular. Since I don't like spending time in beauty parlors, I am simply expecting low maintenance from this cream, which I am getting, Hair regrowth is fast till around 40 yrs of age, so I am not expecting the miracle of completely hairless skin. But yes, I do see patches on my arms, where hair didn't grow back at all. Hope this explanation is helpful :)

  10. What after you stop using it?? r the effects permanent?

    ReplyDelete
  11. Hi Setu, as per the company's description, it looks like they are referring to permanent results, but in the long run. Meaning, you will need to use the product for a long time to reach that permanent stage where regrowth retards to negligible. If you stop using after just one pack, the hair will regrow, even though the growth will be very slow.

  12. Gagan... This seems a good product..

  14. Thanks for your review!
I never use waxing to remove unwanted hair as my skin gets terrible rashes afterward. I would be trying this product as I am seriously tired of shaving my arms, legs and underarms everyday. It becomes a task when going on vacations and spending so much of time doing this. I am willing to use this even for a year if the results are permanent. GoD! I can't imagine a day when I don't have to shave at all! Sounds like a dream come true. Keep posting your experience after few months usage. Thanks!

    1. Dear Pooh, sorry for replying late. I get terrible boils after waxing, mainly infected hair roots but I guess that happens not more becoz of our sensitive skin but more because the parlor ppl don't give us the much required ice pack treatment right after waxing, which would kill such problems. From personal experience, shaving definitely increases hair growth uncontrollably and waxing tones it down over years. There is a Biotique chlorophyll gel and also Vedic line after wax soothing gel, which will help prevent rashes after waxing if u would want to give it a try. If possible, get some good growth and retry waxing and then use this cream. On shaved hair, it does NOT work that fast since those hair are hard. If you need any more info /discussion on this, do email me at onlygraymattermatters@gmail.com.

  15. May I use it around my nipple?? I hve so many unwanted hair around this area..

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. More hair growth in this area can be associated with Harmonal imbalance, did you ever get that checked? The company says it is safe to be used ANYwhere on the body. So u can shave or wax those hair and try this. But do not use directly on the dark skin around the nipple. Or else, you can write to their R&D team to get more details on the safety of using it there.

  16. Hi gaganpreet, i m farman.. A guy 19yr old... I m dealing with a lot of problems regarding excess growth of hairs on my body...i feel really uncomfortable with all these, it feels uneasy for me to take off my shirt in gym, i got dark hairs on my back, chest, on my abs portion, biceps and below my waist, i've got a good physique but because of excess hairs i cant do any show offs.. Apart from that i dont like hairy skin, it makes me feel worse..Hairs on my wrist are a bit long in length, but i've nevr shaved or waxed them, chest hairs are a bit rough because i've waxed them once and trimmed 3 or 4 times, the remaining hairs on my back, biceps and lower waist i did'nt ever touch them. They are a bit long in length but thin hairs. Chest hairs are now not thin due to those removals. I want to remove all these permanently, if its not posssible being permanenent, then at least i want to reduce their growth and shorten their length so that they are not much visible.. So will this product work?? I m really worried, plz help me with your suggestions.. How should i apply this product to get best results? And for how long??? Please leave your reply as soon as possible, i m eagerly waiting...

  17. Dear Farman, please do not worry about your looks as being over hairy is something very common and even many women face this problem. Heredity also plays a big role in it but it is not something that should make you unhappy at this young age. There is definitely a way to cut down any problem, even if we cannot solve it 100%. I have read your concern. If possible, please send me an email with subject TEST at onlygraymattermatters@gmail.com so I get your email ID and can reply you there. It may be too detailed to answer in the comments section. In case you cannot email for any reason, pls let me know and I will try to answer here only.

  19. How does it work after Shaving incase of men

    ReplyDelete

    1. It will work, but it takes comparatively more time on shaved hardened hair than waxed areas. So need to be very patient. May take 2-3 months before you actually notice results.

  20. should i use it only after shaving or can i also use it daily?..

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. You can use it daily and keep shaving the area as and when required. Because this sweats a lot, do not use it the same day when you shave as it may cause you some discomfort but it is totally up to you if you want to. In winters, you need not worry about the sweat.

  23. can the skin be exposed to sunlight after applying this cream?..

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. To answer all above, it's not necessary to apply immediately after waxing/shaving, you can apply at night. You need to use regularly even when stubble has grown back. Because the cream targets hair regrowth, it is important that you do shave at least once a week because it will work on hair when hair are trying to grow back. I personally feel it will be good if you do not shave daily because daily shaving makes hair harder and thicker. But up to you which way you achieve better results. It will not reduce hair length, but hair should grow softer, thinner and less dense.

      Delete
    2. Sorry I missed the last ques. Some products with plant extracts may be photosensitive and may react with sunlight. This can cause skin darkening. I am not sure about this one. It is better not to be in direct sunlight for long, with this applied to your face.

    Replies
    1. Hi, this cream is to be used 24 hrs after every time you remove hair. You can continue applying till all hair regrow to a good growth and then stop. Then restart after next hair removal and so on. The packaging is very small for full body application and won't even last a week if u apply on the entire body. First target certain body areas which are really problematic. Won't work really good on shaved hair as they harden each time you shave unless you give a good gap between two shaves. Works best after waxing or epilating. I will soon do a detailed post on unwanted hair removal. So check back after a few weeks or subscribe to my blog thru email or Facebook.

    ReplyDelete
  26. If you have read the article and previous comments, I have not had any side effects from this cream. No darkening. Just don't apply very near to the eyes. And such products don't show quick results on shaved hair as regrowth for shaved hair is harder. Shaving alone does cause darkening in some people by causing dry skin due to friction between the razor and skin. This cream does not darken skin. Which small area are you referring to?

  27. Hi, Great review of the product.i am having very rough beard. i was looking to thin my beards to have softer skin(i am a guy.i like to look bit androgynous and sometimes crossdress). i considered even going to laser or electrolysis to thin it down. but opted out as it may leave with patchy hairs. after seeing this post i think may be this is what i need to use. i searched Vedic line site but they dint mention this product. Could i expect thinner hair if i apply after shaving. most sites i seen for this kind of products need waxing.not sure if i can do that to my face. People may notice.Does the product mention one can apply it after shaving. I have seen some other products in India but costs 1500 rs which mentions lessening of hair growth. By any chance did you have a look at it as well . Thanks for the informative post.

    1. Hi, thanks for your questions. It seems you are referring to Romantique hair retarder lotion which costs around Rs 1500. Have read reviews abt it but that claims to make hair thinner by weakening hair follicle and this Vedic Line hair retarder claims not to affect the hair follicle. Honestly I don't know how that will make a difference to our body or skin. For me more than this cream alone, it's waxing and epilating that have worked in conjunction. I have tried this cream on shaved hair for a month, but there was hardly any difference to hair growth. Laser and electrolysis don't give permanent results and there can be pigmentation of skin too. So your primary goal is to soften down the beard hair, which you can achieve by not shaving daily. If practically possible, keep a few days gap between two shaves. Apply some conditioner to the beard sometimes and make sure to rinse out thoroughly after 1-2 min. You can also apply coconut/jojoba or any oil and keep for some time. All these will help soften your coarse beard hair. Once soft, you can try facial wax (it's called Katori wax since it comes in a small aluminum bowl). I use it on my forehead and many women with coarse facial hair use it. May be a bit painful in the beginning but hair regrowth is softer and that is when this hair retarder can help. Otherwise, not much effective if you shave daily.

    2. Thanks a lot for reply. cleared my doubts. i will try the conditioner now. Also may try the waxing route after a point of time later. (i hope i could do this myself at home). Also i could now think that i could kind of tweeze some of the hairs uniformally and apply this product. Thanks again for the response.

      Delete
    3. Oops I missed replying you in time. Yes you can do katori facial wax at home. U can get a small patch done from a salon or parlour initially just to check your pain threshold and also how the product fares on your skin. Tweezing may be very painful and may also cause hair follicle infection. Some people r comfortable using epilator on the face. That's painful too but regrown hair will be softer. Try Braun if u want.

    4. Hi Gaganpreet,
Thanks for replying. will try a salon first. i do waxing on other parts of body.so believe would be able to handle it.i already tweeze some part of my hair near my cheek areas. one option i am looking into is eflora cream. i was able to buy in med shop. its been tested on females. but one possible side effect could be hair fall on head.so bit worried. this doesn't require the hair to be removed for application. so may be i will take this route. got the cream with me but just applied once until now. another option i thought was if depilatory cream would work. nair has some cream that could be used on face. i hope it would work for male beard.and since depilatory cream would remove some part of root, vedic line retarder may start working. i cant go to office suddenness with completely smooth skin with no hair at all. so i guess eflora might work. also depilatory cream would work. and also waxing if i could take couple of days off from work so nobody notices.
      Thanks, Kausalya/Suresh

    1. This cream is mild and I haven't heard of any side effects yet, so you can give it a try and start using 24 hrs after threading. Please go through the previous comments for details already mentioned on similar cases. Also, check with your doctor for Eflora cream from Ranbaxy. Eflora is very effective for facial hair in women but may have side effects so proper consultation from Doctor is advised.

  31. Hi,

I have been taking laser session for full face, and have had many of those. Not I have stopped and its been an year. I was on Medication as well for hormones.

My side locks have gone better with laser but my chin area is still the same..i was asked to trim/shave the area while the treatment was on.. and now I do not trim or shave..I have never done face waxing or threading..I pluck my chin hair...

Since now i have stopped all medicine and laser...still my chin area is a problem i get thick coarse hair there...will this product work in my case?

How should I use it? I dont think I can ever get ride of my hair problem..before laser it was fine hair but after that I have grown thick coarse hair..

    ReplyDelete
  32. I guess your hair have gone coarse because of shaving. One of our family friends has undergone laser treatment recently and she also shared that she has been told during the laser treatment to shave the facial hair but to stay away from threading/waxing else hair growth would come back. TO be honest, the cream won't work much for you along with shaving. But if you are willing to go for facial wax/katori wax and use this cream religiously starting from 24 hrs after each waxing, you can get really good results. I had religiously used only one bottle on my legs. The hair have become very fine and thin and easily fall off even by rubbing hands in direction opposite to hair growth. THis cream does work if you use regularly. But first need to stop shaving so hair can become weak and fine again.

    1. I have used hair removal cream only once on forearms a few months ago. Yes you can apply it 24 hrs after hair removal as explained in previous comments but pls know this will sweat a lot. Also, hair removal creams will darken your underarms over years besides undergrown hair roots nad blackheads from stuck hair roots. Pls try waxing. It is initially painful but u can use ice packs. Later it becomes less painful and reduces hair growth considerably without any additional hair retarder or treatment.

    1. If your baby is less than a year old, I would recommend staying away from any such products as body is going through hormonal changes at this time and it takes at least a year for hormone levels and body shape to come back to normal. If your baby is more than a year old, you can use but avoid underarms or the area near breasts. To be honest, I am not an expert or scientifically equipped to answer this, but this is what I would have done if I was in your place. You can write to their email ID and their R&D team can ans more specific questions. I always contact the team for various brands when I have such questions.

    1. Please do yourself a favor and stay away from this and any hair removal creams for at least one year after your baby is born. There are so many harmonal changes going in your body right now and most of the extra hair growth will automatically shed off one year after baby's birth. Just leave it to nature for the time being and concentrate on your baby.

    1. Are you kidding me? You are worried abt the hair growth on a 3 yr old baby? I hope you are not talking to her abt it. If you actually understood and read the post, this cream is to be used after hair removal, which is not possible in case of a baby and I am sorry I was jut too angry after reading your comment. I have been hairy since birth and my mom didn't even have the heart to see me cry when the dai would use a besan ubtan on my body to remove fine hair. Please be sensible and concentrate on your girl's emotional and physical well being and not on her body hair which are so "unwanted" to you. Once she grows up, there are numeroud ways to take care of it. at the most, you can make a paste of gramflour/besan and mustard oil/ malai/ milk and leave on her body till semi dry. Then gently scrub in direction opposite to hair growth, This should discourage some hair growth. Other than that, start loving your baby that's all I can tell you.

    2. On her face, once she grows up to 7-8 yrs, you can rub potato slice to lighten the color of those hair naturally in case they are still there. Most kids, whether girls or boys, do have a lot of body hair suddenly growing up around 3 yrs of age. My kid also has it.

    3. Dear this cream would not bring down natural hair growth. It is only for using after hair removal. People are stupid if they cannot spare a 6 yr old innocent kid. Please take a slice of potato and rub on his facial hair gently for a few minutes whenever possible. When the juice on the slice dries, just poke with nails or knife to bring out more potato juice to the surface and rub again. This will help bleach those hair naturally. Also have you checked with a doctor?

    1. This cream sweats a lot and it is already summers. But yes, you can use at night for more comfort. Dark underarms are mainly a result of shaving and using deodorants. Just stop both and let the skin come to normal condition, be patient, let nature do its work. Try rubbing potato on dark skin while watching TV or sitting idle. For the hair retarder, I would suggest using it 24 hrs after waxing and continue daily till next waxing. Waxing would anyways decrease hair growth over time.

  40. after waxing ,for how many days we have to apply this cream.. after the regrowth of small hairs we have to stop applying,as we do waxing once in a month...
.and we can apply this cream only 24hrs (after waxing )...by mistake i have applied immediately after waxing..

    1. For better and long lasting results, it is advisable to keep applying till next waxing. Then a gap of 24 hrs after waxing and then start again. It shouldn't have harmed much if you applied right after waxing, but try not to do that again. Pores are open at that time and we should not use any soaps or special products. Rather use aloe vera gel or rub ice packs on waxed area and let it soothe and become normal first, before starting any treatment. Hope this helps!

  41. thanks for reply..Can I apply it on face...I m also taking medicine for hormonal imbalance..Is it okay to apply medicine.if yes, how many times in a day i can apply this cream. Is it okay to use it once in a day?

    ReplyDelete

    1. It is safe to use on the face. The package says twice a day but it sweats a lot. So up to you. I used to use at night and leave overnight. Should be safe to use along with medicine as you are just applying it topically, on the outer body. Still you can double check with your doctor. If hair growth is too much, there is one eflora medicated cream, which you can consult your doctor first and then use. Eflora is manufactured by Ranbaxy and comes for around INR 500. Results are fast but not permanent. Once growth is in control, you can switch to this hair retarder. Check with doctor first for eflora/

    1. Yes Maahi, this does make hair finer and weaker. Hair start coming out easily. You should be able to notice a difference even within first cycle of use (between first two waxings). I didn't notice any decrease in the length of regrown hair, but they were very fine and I had less painful waxing than before. Hope this answers.

    1. Dear Maahi all your ans are in the previous comments. The hair will regrow but growth will be slower, so you can have more gap between two waxing sessions. Start 24 hrs after waxing and continue till next hair removal. Effects show in the form of hair growth slowing down but it cannot remove hair permanently. For me the hair growth went down considerably and it lasted many months after I stopped using during winters when I was not waxing regularly. But after 6-7 months the growth has come back to normal speed. So you need to be regular with at least 2-3 bottle, else effects won't be long lasting.

    1. I am not sure about permanent results as I have not used it for a very very long period. Like I have explained above, when I stopped using it, the results lasted for 6-7 months in terms of slower and finer regrowth.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Dear Indrajeeth, it does not specify or claim to decrease hair growth by any certain percentage. Whatever is mentioned in the table above under 'package description' is all that is written on the package. But it does work very well. However, for it to work for you, you first need to remove the hair growth on your legs as this cream targets 'regrowth' and NOT already grown hair.

    1. It is normal in both men and women to have hair on this area. Mostly these hair shed off with friction with your cotton undergarment. This is one of the most sensitive areas in the body and would you like first waxing it because the cream won't work without removing the hair first? The skin on and around the chest and underarms has a high absorption rate for any product you apply, so I won't recommend but you can write on the email ID above and check with the brand or with a doctor first.

    1. Yes it will work. And if you tweeze daily then you can start using the same day. It is summers and it sweats a lot. Preferably try at night or anytime in the day you find suitable. Just use religiously whenever you remember to apply.

The hair are still on my face.... i have gone through all the required hormonal tests and nothing is wrong with it as all tests are showing no problem with the hormones.
now i have come across this product.......will it work in my case as the hair doesnt gone after the laser?

    1. Yes you can use it without any worries. But you need to first remove those hair with katori wax and then apply the hair retarder as this cream works on hair 're-growth' and not simply growth. If you take too much of tea or coffee, that can also lead to more facial hair.

Lately trying the laser thing on my face but really not seeing the expected result. they say on face its hormonal. thou hormones tests were all clear.

Anyways jfi is this still recommendable? i mean, does it still work?
Any clue whether it would work on grey hair (facial i.e). Laser doesn't seem to target couple of greys on my chin.

    tks in advance!

    1. Hi, as this was an anonymous comment it was lost and I just happened to notice and moderate it. If you read the comments before, a few other people have also complained that laser didn't work for them. But I have heard they tell you to use a razor and not plucker/epilator after undergoing laser. If you are using a razor, then this cream won't help much as shaven hair are hard and don't get targeted easily. If you use a face epilator or plucker and then use this, it may help.

  52. Hi gaganpreet...
what is the current status of your hair growth, especially the facial hair?
Do you think the results last after the application of cream is stopped?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I didn't see something really great on the face. Used to apply on the forehead only but then I have never been regular. On the legs i did see results.I didn't use the whole winters last year and restarted this year. On the arms, the first cycle of hair regrowth, I didn't notice any change. But strangely, even when I stopped applying, on the second regrowth cycle, hair growth is really retarted.

So you cannot expect a miracle and it takes longer than you think, to work. Every application helps somehow even though you won't see immediate result. But on discontinuing usage for some 7 months or so, hair growth starts increasing again.

I have alot of facial hairs and I do threading on weekly basis to remove them. Can I use this product on my face after threading? Does it sting when used immediately after threading?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. It won't sting when used immediately after threading but as this product causes a lot of sweating, it may lead to infection because pores would be open after threading and may get clogged. Just rub some ice after threading to soothe down the skin and close the pores, then you can apply.

You won't see the results initially. At times, I notice after 2-3 cycles that there are some patches where hair growth has really gone down, but as such the other hair keep growing to their full length. Continuous use of one tub should help you see results after 2 months or so. But I haven't seen full hair growth going down in one go.

When they grow up, these will naturally shed and then growth will be according to heredity. Stop worrying over such stupid things and concentrate on your kid's well being. This cream is not for babies. And please don't experiment with any other product too. Till the age of 6, kids' skin is 6 times thinner than ours.

I've dense growth of hair on my legs. I've been waxing whenever I need to (not so regularly). My hair on legs are not hard but black, dense and long. Will this product help me in reducing the density of hair??? You said over a long period of time hair might start falling off because they can weaker over the time. I want to know precisely how much time?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I am sorry this comment was left out. I did not have internet access for a very long period in Nov and after that this seems to have been missed out.

This cream does not decrease the hair length. Only there are some patches here and there where hair do not grow back at all and remaining hair keep coming back at normal pace. After the hair has regrown and come out of the skin, that stage further it takes a long time to grow. But once fully grown, hair are fine and very long, the way you already have. With that fine hair, just be regular with waxing and then use this cream side by side.

I don't know precisely how much time. I am currently not using it because I am not waxing regularly these days as my skin is very sensitive and I am getting painful eruptions every time I wax. Plus regrowth rate is different for everyone's body.

    1. Actually the best time to apply it is at night becuase this cream makes you sweat A LOT. So you won't be able to wear your makeup over it. Plus I won't recommend wearing makeup over a treatment cream like this. Just use at night before going to bed so it gets time to work on your skin.

  60. Hi,

Can i remove under chin hair by using a hair removal cream such as veet and then use this?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. There is no harm in trying that way but I have noticed it hardly works on shaved/depilated hair. Depilatory creams like Veet etc just remove the hair from the surface and the regrowth is very fast. If you can afford, invest in a face epilator. There are currently some offers on medplusbeauty.com and purplle.com on epilators, I am not sure if that includes face epilators too. But epilator will really help you bring down the growth. Else you can use normal wax, wax those hair and then use this cream.

    1. Both waxing and threading are fine dear. Threading is fine only if you don't thread every other day and there is a good gap between 2 threading sessions. I had noticed that mainly with shaving it does not work because shaving quickens regrowth and also the regrown hair are thicker with shaving.

  67. hi, i am applying veet hair removal cream on my upper lip! it was working fine but now my upper lip starts blackening and it really looks awkward even after wearing makeup! will this cream help me lighten the area!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Dear Preethi, all depilatory creams make the skin dark which is why many people have dark upper lip and dark under arms and even dark pubic area.

      1. This cream does not claim any whitening or de-pigmentation. It is just supposed to slow down the hair growth.
      2. Simply stop using any kind of hair removal cream and start getting your upper lip threaded. You can use a plucker//tweezer in between or simply bleach your hair 2 days after threading. That will give you good camouflage without having to get threading done very often.
      3. Even with threading, don't go very fast. Just get it done once a month or once in 3 weeks else hair growth will become fast.
      4. Once you stop using hair removal creams, skin will automatically start clearing up. Skin has a renewal cycle of 28 days, so expect some change in the next 28 days once you stop using it. Apply boroline at that area every night. It may feel sticky but will be totally gone in the morning.
      5. Rub lemon on the upper lip area whenever you are sitting free or watching TV. Rub for 5-10 min and then leave it on. Later you can either wash it off or can simply rub an ice cube on that area to melt away the dried lemon juice. This will naturally lighten your hair as well as the skin there.
      6. If it suits your skin, you can also gently rub a slice of potato on the dark area and it dries very quickly, so just poke the potato with clean nails or a knife to bring out more juice and rub again. Leave for 10 min or so and wash off with plain water. It also naturally bleaches hair and helps remove pigmentation/darkened skin.

      Hope this helps.

    1. Dear Preethi, I have tried Katori Wax on my forehead for almost 2 years and the regrowth was thicker and very fast. Just try normal wax which we use for arms and legs. You can get a wax tin for around Rs 80 and the strips for Rs 30-50. Just cut one strip in small long rectangles. Heat the wax on gas stove on low flame till 1-2 inches from the top have melted. Now take it off and place on a plate using a cloth to hold the hot tin.

Use a wooden icecream spoon and take a thin layer of wax and blow breath on it to cool it a little and apply on the upper lips in downward strokes (not sideways, just downwards). Press a small piece of strip on that and once it sticks, just pull off in the opposite direction. Repeat on both sides of the upper lip. And you are done without any mess. This does not pain, I have very sensitive skin and katori wax used to pain this one does not. I wax my forehead. Rub an icecube on the waxed skin. After 24-48 hours bleach the area. After waxing you can start using this hair retarder cream in the evening or at night. You can buy from HERE or HERE or the sites listed above in the table.

I have read the entire blog and answers and just like me you also are prone to boils and breakouts post waxing. Now to try this product , waxing seems like the best way to go about. I saw you mentioned about 2 Gels and Ice Packs as remedies to control the boils post waxing. I wanna know which of these suited you the best. Is there anything else that you discovered that has helped avoid post wax boils apart from ice packs?

  77. Hi Gaganpreet, very interesting product. I premise I read all comments, like I always to before commenting myself. So yeah, I know shaving can increase the hair growth and make hair harder and thicker with time, so that this cream might not be near as effective there and I already started shaving some new zones of my body since between 7 and 2 years ago on the most recent and I must say I'm comfortable with it despite its clear limitations. There are zones I need to shave every 3-4 days to keep them smooth. Even if this cream might not thin it down I'd be already satisfied if it did slow it down a bit, so that I need to shave less, but you recommend to not shave this often to see at least some results? If you stop shaving, is the hair going to be near as soft as before shaving or as if I didn't shave or it might be permanent to an extent?
